Two operatic traditions. One unforgettable night. On July 10 and 11, the Central City Opera Orchestra performs on stage. Savor the greatest moments from Wagner and Strauss, Verdi and Puccini. From thundering overtures to intimate duets, dramatic confrontations to stirring choruses, discover why these composers have captivated audiences for centuries. This summer, CCO in Concert features the magic of Italian and German opera, distilled into a single unforgettable evening.

Maria Callas in Master Class

Central City Opera
Terrence McNally’s Tony-winning play transforms a simple voice lesson with opera legend, Maria Callas into an unforgettable evening of drama, music and revelation. Featuring arias by Puccini, Verdi, and Bellini, Master Class returns to the tradition of presenting American plays in our festival.

Free Pre-Performance Talks: 45 minutes prior to every 2026 main stage performance, in the Williams Stables Theatre (across the street from the Opera House). Seating is limited — arrive early!

Opening Night Reception: Saturday, July 18, 5:00 p.m. Mingle with directors, actors, and musicians over cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres in the historic Teller House.
